SACL Watermain Relocation

This Project comprised of a new 375mm DICL watermain relocation outside Arrivals Court at Sydney International Airport

 

Scope of Works:

  • Co-ordination and planning with Ward Civil & SACL with regard to isolation of Sydney International airport, while mitigating risk to Nova’s team working on the pipework and supplying a sufficient water supply to both Sydney Airports International terminal, Customs, Rydges hotel and other airline freight business’s affected.
  • Supply and install 200m 375mm DICL
  • Supply and install 30m 200mm DICL with connection into airside tunnel
  • Completion of trial shutdowns for Sydney International airport
  • Fabricated Stainless steel connection to Sydney Airport water infrastructure inside Airside maintenance tunnels
  • Connection to 375mm DICL Sydney Airport Water infrastructure inside Sydney Airport International Pump house.
  • Connection to existing 375mm CICL Sydney Airport Infrastructure along Arrivals Court.
  • Concrete encasements around 375mm DICL pipe
  • Installation of Scour pit along new 375mm DICL watermain
  • Large designed in-situ pit with new water-meter installed with McBerns Aluminum safety lid.
  • Isolations/Shutdowns carried out by Nova Civil.
  • Supply and install of multiple stop valves from 100mm – 375mm, installation of an automatic air-valve on 375mm DICL inside a sealed pre-cast pit.

Macquarie Park (Busways)

This project comprises of the following road and intersection upgrades:

  • The intersection of Herring Road and Epping Road – traffic island, traffic signal, and mean adjustments
  • Herring Road between Waterloo Road and Epping Road – southbound bus lane between Waterloo Road and Ivanhoe Place and lane and median adjustments
  • The intersection of Waterloo Road and Herring Road – median, land and traffic island adjustments and traffic signal mast arm installation
  • The intersection of Waterloo Road and Lane Cove Road – lane, traffic and median adjustments and pedestrian fence along median in Waterloo Road west
  • Lane Cove Road between Waterloo and Epping Road – extensions of existing bus bay
  • The intersection of Lane Cove Road and Epping Road – traffic island and traffic signal adjustments, retaining wall extension of right turn lane on Lane Cove Road (northbound), shared user path and lane widening on approach to intersection.

Green Square

These infrastructure works centre upon the creation of Geddes Avenue and Portman Street, upgrade of the existing Botany Road and the associated utilities and public domain.

 

Scope of Works:

  • Removal and remediation of future road reserve areas within the development in accordance with the requirements of the RAP
  • Creation of Geddes Avenue and Paul Street including cycle paths, associated infrastructure and public domain works
  • Extension of Ebsworth Street to a new signalised intersection with the future Zetland Avenue
  • Creation of new signalised intersection between Geddes Avenue and Paul Street
  • Creation of a new intersection on Portman Street with the proposed Geddes Avenue
  • Creation of new signalised intersection on Botany Road (at Geddes Avenue)
  • Creation of an additional lane, median and footpath works on Botany Road
  • Internal utilities reticulation and lead-ins

Reinstatement of pavements outside the new roads where excavation is required for services works.

Boundary Street, Chatswood

This project involved carrying out of early works for the upgrade of the Boundary Street and Pacific Highway upgrades. The upgrade is part of a larger Roads and Maritime project which aims to reduce delays, manage congestion and maintain travel times on Sydney’s main roads, particularly during peak periods.

 

Scope of works:

  • Stormwater water package 300mm to 525mm RCP’s
  • Various structures, manholes etc
  • Installation of 150mm watermain

Including a 30m bore under Hill Street, Roseville.

WARD CIVIL

Sydney Airport – Butler Road

This project will be undertaken in three stages. Stage 1 will see the preparation of site and demolition, with the construction of temporary pavement to widen the existing road. Stormwater drainage will then be installed, followed by the construction of new kerbs and pavement. Stages 2 to 3 will involve the completion of stormwater drainage, further construction of kerbs and pavement, as well as a roundabout at the intersection between Butler Road and Ross Smith Avenue.

 

Works will be conducted at night to minimize the impact of the construction on airport tenancies, traffic, and the general public.

 

Scope of Works:

  • Stormwater drainage package.

Blacktown Road, Londonderry

 

This project involved the construction of a new two-lane roundabout at the intersection of Richmond Road and The Northern Road in accordance with RMS specifications.

Light Rail

 

To facilitate construction of the Sydney Light Rail project, Ward will undertake the relocation of the existing vehicular accesses from High Street to a number of properties.

 

The project includes the construction of a new access lane branching off from Arthur Street to provide vehicular access to these properties from the rear. The lane will be 6m wide and approximately 65m long with an 8m wide, 45m long hammerhead arrangement. In addition to providing access for residents’ vehicles, the lane will also provide access for waste collection trucks, removalist trucks, light commercial vehicles and pedestrians.

Scope of works:

  • Installation of manhole on existing sewer with 19m ventshaft

Concrete encasement of existing sewer pipe and adjustment of existing manhole

Geddes Avenue, Paul Street and Botany Road, Infrastructure

Nova Civil was awarded a contract, by Ertech, for the construction of Geddes Ave, Paul St & Botany Rd Infrastructure near Alexandria, NSW.

 

The Green Square Urban Renewal Area is located within the most important economic corridor in the country. Sitting between Sydney’s City Centre and Kingsford Smith International Airport, Green Square covers 278ha of Australia’s oldest industrial area and has long been considered the largest and perhaps most important renewal project in Australia.

Green Square Town Centre is a new retail/commercial and residential precinct. Bounded by Bourke Street, Botany Road, Joynton Avenue and Hansard Street, the area has a history of industrial usage, and the buildings, hardstands associated with these facilities have been demolished and the area cleared for future redevelopment.
